This project was an exercise in bringing an artistic vision (in this case, of a lamp) to realization. The time frame given to imagine the lamp, iterate, and then bring it to life was 3 weeks. 

I began my exploration with a mood board. I drew a lot of inspiration from playful yet functional creations, such as the JumpFromPaper backpack, that confuse the viewer and bring 2D objects into the 3D world. I wanted to create something that was functional yet was able to bring that same level of whimsy to an everyday space.

The light turned on with a tug on its pull switch, giving a satisfying 'click!'
